Perform the following steps:
- Turn off the 8500 printer.
- Open the top cover.
- Remove the ribbon cartridge. To do this, push the ribbon cartridge to the left and lift it up.
- Carefully remove the jammed paper. Make sure that you do not damage the thermal head.
- Replace the ribbon cartridge.
- Close the top cover.
- Discard any partially-fed paper from the paper tray.
Important: Do not place any partially-fed paper back into the paper tray!
